New rules for cooperationNew rules for cooperation between PNO and IO-Link members
In 2003 a Working Group (TC3/WG16) was established within the PROFIBUS Nutzerorganisation e.V. (PNO) to develop a cost-effective point-to-point communication technology between sensors/actuators and fieldbus nodes or controllers. The companies interested in IO-Link have joined together as IO-Link members for the purposes of coordinating and organizing the further development and dissemination of this technology.
Following completion of the first version of the specification for the communication part in October 2006, the first version of the system of rules for the cooperation between TC3/WG16 and IO-Link members was developed. That system of rules had a validity period of 3 years, which ended on December 31, 2009.
The new version 1.01 of the rules describes the cooperation between the IO-Link members and the PNO as of January 2010.
