Interoperability workshop for IO-Link devices

The IO-Link Consortium will hold a workshop on the topic of interoperability on December 4 and 5, 2013. During the two days, device manufacturers will have ample opportunity to thoroughly test their newly developed products. The main purposes of the workshop are to test and improve the interoperability between products of different manufacturers, to provide tips for implementation, and to answer questions on all aspects of IO-Link technology. The event will take place at the offices of the sensor manufacturer ifm in Tettnang.

Test stations will be set up at the workshop for four main technological areas: data management, system integration, compatibility between V1.0 and V1.1, and test systems. Experts will be available at these stations to provide useful information and to discuss current issues.

In addition to the official program and the test stations attended by experienced developers, the workshop will also offer ample opportunity for technical discussions and, in particular, for communication among manufacturers. Not only will experienced IO-Link experts benefit from these discussions, but also manufacturers that are just getting started with IO-Link and are in the process of bringing their first devices to market. This will be of even greater interest due to the fact the IO-Link recently received unanimous approval as international standard IEC 61131-09.

Companies interested in having their devices tested can register for the workshop at info@profibus.com.
